Jeanette (Woodworth) Behan

Jeanette Behan's 1988 book "The Woodworth Family of America, Descendants of Walter Woodworth of 1630 through Six Generations, Volume 1", is the first published book for the full Walter Woodworth line in ninety years.  The last one before Jeanette's was William Atwater Woodworth's, published in 1898

Jeanette almost completed a second book for the seventh generation before she passed away.  The manuscript has been digitized, her data that was penciled in margins included, and the manuscript added on this web site in the "Resource" section.

Jeanette worked with numerous Woodworth genealogists, and saw the loss of valuable records of deceased researchers when their estates would not respond.  With the passing away of one of her closest collaborators, Maurice Woodworth of Tulsa, and the discovery that she had a terminal illness, she focused on publishing and perpetuating the works of other researchers and hers.
Further, she wanted to document the corrections that would spare future generations time and discussion.   We have all benefitted.
